Digital Displays & EMCs

Digital displays — from full-color EMCs on a pylon to indoor menu boards and donor walls — let a brand change its message without changing its sign. Walton specifies, integrates, and installs digital signage as part of a wider brand program rather than as a standalone screen.

What it is

A digital display is an electronic screen integrated into a sign cabinet or architectural element. EMCs (electronic message centers) are the outdoor, weather-rated variant typically embedded in pylons or monuments.

Typical use cases

  • EMC sections within new pylon and monument builds
  • Digital menu boards and order-confirmation displays
  • Indoor donor walls and corporate communications screens
  • Architectural digital integrations on flagship sites

Materials & construction

  • Outdoor-rated full-color LED modules (pixel pitch matched to viewing distance)
  • Indoor LCD/LED panels with commercial-grade duty cycles
  • Network controllers and CMS integration
  • Weather-sealed cabinets and ventilation

Installation

Digital integrations bring electrical, networking, and content-management considerations on top of the structural install. Walton coordinates the electrical scope, low-voltage runs, and CMS handoff so the screen is live on day one.

Permitting

Many jurisdictions regulate EMC brightness, animation cadence, and minimum dwell time. Walton's permit team checks the local digital-sign ordinance before a build starts.
