Blade Signs

Blade signs project perpendicular to a storefront so pedestrians can see the brand from down the block. They're the right tool for urban in-line retail, transit-adjacent storefronts, and mall corridors where a flush-mounted sign disappears.

What it is

A blade sign is a projecting sign mounted perpendicular to the building face, typically double-sided and internally illuminated.

Typical use cases

  • Urban in-line retail
  • Mall and lifestyle-center storefronts
  • Transit-adjacent storefronts and food halls
  • Pedestrian downtown corridors

Materials & construction

  • Aluminum cabinet, double-sided
  • Acrylic or push-thru faces
  • Internal LED illumination
  • Engineered mounting bracket sized to wall substrate

Installation

Blade signs need an engineered bracket and a wall substrate that can take the cantilevered load. Walton's site survey verifies the wall before fabrication.

Permitting

Projection distance and minimum sidewalk clearance are regulated locally and often by the landlord's tenant criteria as well. Walton confirms both before drawings are issued.
